Overview
Eric Mayer is the Managing Partner of Dumon Partners’ Hong Kong office, formerly Mayer & Associés, a firm he founded in Hong Kong in 1995.
He advises SMEs and multinational companies on their establishment, investments and cross-border operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on commercial expansion and regional structuring.
With deep knowledge of the local business environment and a long-established network, Eric Mayer has assisted numerous European companies in their expansion across Asia. He regularly acts as a bridge between European executives and the regional business community.
His practice covers international business law, cross-border M&A, joint ventures and restructurings, as well as corporate, commercial and tax matters, international arbitration, real estate and corporate immigration. He has significant experience across a range of industries, including retail, luxury, textile, agri-food, construction, events, healthcare and industrial technologies.
Eric Mayer was appointed Foreign Trade Advisor of France in 2007 and served as legal advisor to the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau in 2010.
He is admitted to the Paris Bar and registered with the Law Society of Hong Kong. He holds a postgraduate degree (DEA) in General Private Law from Paris X Nanterre University and works in French, English, Spanish and Cantonese (intermediate level).
Alongside his professional activities, he is involved in heritage restoration projects in Aveyron and supports educational initiatives for children in an isolated community in northwestern Mongolia.
